Our Annual 5K
We held our 1st Annual Sari Center 5K Run/Walk on Februaruy 5th, 2011. An idea that was born of true friendship, one friend looking for a way to celebrate and honor her best friend, and her courageous battle with breast cancer. A mitzvah project for both of their soon-to-be-teenage children. The kids worked together to design the race concept, the logo and to find sponsors and raise money.
The 1st Annual 5K was a great success! We had 325 participants including many of our affiliated oncologists, patients who had recently undergone treatment, board members, and lots of talented runners. The race helps us to raise funds to support our Patient Scholarship Fund that ensures all cancer patients access to our specialized integrative therapies. These therapies, like acupuncture, medical massage, nutrition consultation, and hypnotherapy help reduce symptoms, like pain, stress, and lymphedema, and significantly improve patients' quality of daily living.
The Sari Center is the primary initiative of the Palm Beach Cancer Institute Foundation and all monies raised through the 5K Run/Walk will be used for the Sari Center Patient Scholarship Fund. You will see an opportunity to donate additonal funds to the Foundation when you are registering for the race on the Active.com registration page when you click below. Thank you for your support!
The 2nd Annual Sari Center 5K Run/Walk will be held at John Prince Park on February 4, 2012!
Race starts at 7:30 am, packet pick-up and onsite registration start at 6:15 am.
